Eartha Kitt, amidst writing her memoirs, receiving a new fountain pen from Frank D. Waterman, chairmen of the Waterman Pen Co. (Jet, July 14, 1955). The result: Thursday’s Child, published in 1956.
I have become partially, respectfully, infatuated with her. From talent to intellect, charisma to style she had it all (maybe even a scandal here and there) and made it look easy. Always sharp there was never a dull moment and when she spoke her mind; people listened -well I did. She embodied grace and remained forever alluring, a TRUE performer through and through. A lifelong inspiration to me.
